Buckland Society 2009 Events Plan
A highlight of the year, Buckland's wide range of Society events offer activities and entertainment to appeal to everyone.
Organizers and volunteers give their time for free and extra help is always hugely appreciated - so if you can help out in any way please get in touch with any of our committee members.

February - Cheese and Wine
Come and enjoy a selection of tasty cheeses from around the world plus a selection of fine wines. 7.30pm at The Village Hall. Tickets are available in advance: £6.50 which includes 2 glasses of wine!
April - Spelling Bee
New for 2009, a Spelling Bee competition for all the family.
May 22nd to 25th - Buck Pub
Great village event for all the family, lunch and evening meals supplied by local residents with a well-stocked bar to keep you refreshed.
June 6th - Music Under The Stars
Now in its fourth year, an evening for all the family with several bands playing a variety of musical styles throughout the evening. Taking place in the orchard at Lower Farm, this great night is open to family and friends of Buckland Village and promises to be great fun. Entry strictly by ticket only.
June 21st - Buckland Open Gardens
Once again you get the chance to view the splendid Buckland Gardens from 2pm - 5pm. Enjoy the exotic and colourful gardens of Buckland - all gardens that are open will be sign posted with a poster outside, and this year new gardens have been added to the list. When you have finished viewing why not relax and enjoy an afternoon tea and incredibly tempting cakes at the beautiful Buckland Church. This is an ideal way to view village gardens and get some free gardening advice! See the many variations of designs that help make the village unique. Only £2 per adult and one ticket gives entry to all open gardens, children go free.
July 11th - Village Night Walk
New for 2009, a night walk to see the glow worms!
July 25th - Buckland Village Fête
Now a Village Fête with all the original favourite attractions - close to 30 stalls, a farmer's market, a craft fayre, plus many new exciting events throughout the afternoon.
August 16th - Village Walk
A walk around local countryside, ending with a well-earned pub lunch. All welcome for a healthy and scenic day out.
October 10th - Quiz Night
This ever-popular annual event to see who wins the Buckland Shield. Included in the evening is a fish and chip supper.
November 14th - Buckland's Got Talent!
A chance to see the 'talent' hidden in Buckland, with acts ranging from singing, dance, comedy, music and many more!
